Miaka is first brought into the world of "The Universe of the Four Gods when she sees the Suzako ( The Phoenix)." Upon entering the book she learns that she is the Suzako no Miko. She is in love with one of the Guaradins of Suzako (Tamahome.) She is an endearing character with a huge heart that I love even though some do not particularly like her. *they are just jealous!* She acts as the main character throughout the series.

He is the sexy guy in which all girls fall head over heels for. At first he seems to be obsessed with money (which happens to be all for his family--sweet)then Miaka 'begins to work her way into his heart,' and the rest is history I suppose. He swears he'll protect her with his life. With all that, how can you not love him??!! ^_^

He is the very serious emperor that desperately wants to be loved for the person that he is and not his title. He felt like Miaka could see past that and loved her. Unfortunately it led to nothing because she was already in love with Miaka. But no worries, he does find love eventually...

Nuriko is the absolute coolest cross dresser there ever was!! Nuriko had adored his younger sister as a child and when she died he was devastated and in order to not loose her forever he decided to beacome her-- thus she is who she is and shamelessly in love with Hotohori! Don't you love him.. (hehe)

He's one of my faves! (even though he annoyingly says "you know" after every sentence on the Pioneer Dub.) His crushing secret past causes him to where a mask to hide his scar that he inflicted upon himself as a youth vowing never to forget what happened.

Tasuki is the big mouthed wise cracker that you want to shut-up half the time! (he still cute though)They gave him a ridiculous english accent in the english dubbing from Pioneer which I totally disagreed with. He can't stand women because he grew up in a house full of them and he has a lil' (large) fear of water!

He is the serious doctor that used his healing power to heal people though his ability was not able to svae the love of his life causing him to lapse into seclusion. Miaka persuades his help and he takes his responsibility as a guardian.

He was first thought to be Amiboshi but later claimed his place when he came to the rescue at the last possible second. Chiriko is the late comer- brain child. At the age of 13 he has past the exams inabiling him to be in the government. (the highest score no less!)
